How do you rate games?
For reviews, I rate games in 6 categories; story, systems, sounds, sensory, scenery, and an x-factor. Story is self explanatory. Systems encompasses combat, crafting, collecting, any additional content or mechanics added to the game. Sound is music, sound effects, and voice acting quality. Sensory is how the game controls and traveling through the world works. Scenery refers to the graphics and environment. Those are all weighted evenly while the x-factor is more heavily weighted and involves an arbitrary number based on how I feel about the game. Each category is out of 15 and the overall score is out of 100.
Why do you live stream?
I have a relatively poor memory, so I wanted to live stream and simultaneously record the content to help me remember my experiences when they’ve long since passed. If I happen to encounter great people wanting to interact with me while I’m playing, well that’s just a huge bonus.
Why don’t you monetize your content?
Well at the moment, Rumble doesn’t have an option for me not to monetize and still reach people, so if you wanted to send ad pennies my way, that’s one way to do it. I’ve de-affiliated from Twitch as the minimal amount I was receiving wasn’t worth the ad interruptions from those that watched me, so I cut the line and Twitch is ad free. This website will be used for a collection of everything I do; an interactive journal per say, and I despise being bombarded by ad blocks and popups, so I bet others are too. Oh yeah, I have a job, not one I will quit for a hobby either, so money is covered.
What is a “stream journal” and why should I care?
Well, the stream journal is just a summary of my experience with the game I played. It’s not a walk through, a guide, full story discussion, or narration, it’s how a stream impacted me while also talking about what I accomplished. Depending on how many streams I have per game, the journal for a game could be lengthy. Some people like to read versus absorbing video content, but also, having it written down helps cement the material more in my mind versus video. I also write everything down in a notebook prior to posting it here so it’s nice to have a record of everything.
